recently abandoned Beit-harishonim historic house into a cultivated garden, more than a form or an object, Common Ground is a process. Instead of seeing the construction stage as an exclusive client-builder interaction, at the end of which a project is delivered as an object for the visitors to enjoy, the construction process for Common Ground was inclusive and was held in an open-to-all construction site. Using open-calls and publications to local communities, nearby residents have joined the build process; together we tightened the ground, casted concrete benches, planted wild plants, and turned the construction process into a collective effort in which gardening is an ongoing project. The layout of the garden is a condensed pocket-sized English garden with a main path which diverges into smaller paths and hidden seating areas. Each area is positioned to outlook a different view of the nearby landscape while making room for a bold custom concrete-cast terrazzo element. While the first two concrete elements are somewhat intimate, a larger reflection pool makes place for a possible play and interaction between people, animals and plants. Along the garden paths, five trees were planted in order to supply shade and fruits for visitors. Almost all plants which were planted in the garden are local wild plants which characterize the surrounding area of Hefer valley, while a small number of culture plants was used to bring about Lab project organizes space through a clear architectural gesture: a 3.6 x 3.6-meter wooden box. Positioned at the center of an existing radial space, the box defines distinct functions on each face — office, storage, kitchenette, services, and restroom —while its monolithic form doubles as a projection screen for larger gatherings. The southern façade, articulated as a layered system of curtains, negotiates the harsh desert climate, alternately diffusing light and blacking out the space to enable projection and large group interaction. Outside, on a balcony facing the street, a small experimental garden is planned, featuring cacti and succulents. This small landscape explores responses to the Negev’s harsh climate, rethinking urban planting standards and embracing a contextual approach to landscape design. recently abandoned Beit-harishonim historic house into a cultivated garden, more than a form or an object, Common Ground is a process. Instead of seeing the construction stage as an exclusive client-builder interaction, at the end of which a project is delivered as an object for the visitors to enjoy, the construction process for Common Ground was inclusive and was held in an open-to-all construction site. Using open-calls and publications to local communities, nearby residents have joined the build process; together we tightened the ground, casted concrete benches, planted wild plants, and turned the construction process into a collective effort in which gardening is an ongoing project. The layout of the garden is a condensed pocket-sized English garden with a main path which diverges into smaller paths and hidden seating areas. Each area is positioned to outlook a different view of the nearby landscape while making room for a bold custom concrete-cast terrazzo element. While the first two concrete elements are somewhat intimate, a larger reflection pool makes place for a possible play and interaction between people, animals and plants. Along the garden paths, five trees were planted in order to supply shade and fruits for visitors. Almost all plants which were planted in the garden are local wild plants which characterize the surrounding area of Hefer valley, while a small number of culture plants was used to bring about Each project offered a different vision for a post industrial architecture in the city of Haifa.The exhibition space proposed by Haifa municipality was a former office space facing a downtown street in haifa. Using the clearness of the office glass facade, a set of exposed plaster boards reframed the space and arranged an exhibition for both the visitor and the passer by. Visible from the street, the space can also be seen by drivers of passing-by cars, Enabling to view the exhibition for a brief moment, on the go. If its section allow for a wide range of events and modes of living, perhaps the common yearning for the square meter could be replaced with the yearning for smarter infrastructure. The balcony Home restructures the home as a platform, it is the common space for public and private actions - work, study, leisure, entertainment, and consumption. As water and electrical outlets are no longer program-dependent, the home is liberated from its basic spatial unit - the room, rendering the distinction between private and public, dirty and clean, hidden and visible, and wet and dry obsolete. Positioned at the center of an existing radial space, the box defines distinct functions on each face — office, storage, kitchenette, services, and restroom —while its monolithic form doubles as a projection screen for larger gatherings. The southern façade, articulated as a layered system of curtains, negotiates the harsh desert climate, alternately diffusing light and blacking out the space to enable projection and large group interaction. Outside, on a balcony facing the street, a small experimental garden is planned, featuring cacti and succulents.
